Simon is a conservation scientist with a wide range of research experience on the ecology of different species to inform effective solutions for their conservation. Simon has worked on waterbirds in Kenya, squirrels and ravens in the UK, Albertine Rift endemics in Rwanda and parrots in West Africa and Indonesia. His key research interests lie in devising new methods for estimating species abundance and modelling population dynamics of threatened species, amongst other things. Before joining CPSG as a Single-species Conservation Planning Programme Officer, in 2023, Simon had been working for 6 years as a lecturer in Conservation Science at Bangor University (UK), where he maintains an honorary lecturer position.
