Our Work
A study of 45 conservation planning projects showed collective species decline slowed and reversed within 15 years of a workshop
CPSG offers tools and processes that address common conservation planning needs, helping to get species in need on the road to recovery. The purpose of species conservation planning is to increase the effectiveness of conservation actions by basing them on thorough data analysis, well-defined and achievable goals, incorporating diverse perspectives, and building consensus among all stakeholders.
“The three workshops created the goal-oriented framework that was necessary to make progress for the golden lion tamarin. The work on the ground has been carried out by local conservationists and international experts, but the workshops created the framework and showed what way to go. That part was just as important as the work on the ground.”
